Having Fun in Colchester

When it comes to fun, Colchester has everything you’d expect as well as several things you wouldn’t.

For traditional sports and swimming take a trip to Leisure World, just a short walk from the main city centre. You will also discover several golf courses close by, including  Putt in the Park which is perfect for children. For slightly more unusual activities you could try the 18- hole Frisbee Golf course at the University of Essex, or on a similar theme, the FootGolf course at Waldegraves on Mersea Island.

Colchester Sports Park offers indoor and outdoor  sports and leisure activities including a 1 mile cycle track and BMX pump track.

If the weather’s bad and you want to burn off some energy indoors, there's plenty of options too. From the familiar Ten-Pin bowling to Rollerworld, Europe’s finest roller-rink. In the same building you’ll find Quasar laser-tag where you can enjoy shooting your friends (or strangers). Alternatively, to really work up a sweat you can bounce off some energy in Jump Street Trampolining Park, or for those that want a real challenge you can tackle the assault course at Ultimate Ninja UK, go Paintballing or try your hand at Bouldering.

If this is all too energetic, why not grab a ticket to see the famous U's play at the JobServe Community Stadium. Currently playing in League 2, watching Colchester United play is sure to be a great day out.
