Disabled Parking
Blue Badge holders can park free for up to three hours in all Colchester City Council car parks. Additionally Blue Badge holders can park for free for up to three hours in Blue Badge parking bays in the centre of the city (High Street, North Hill & Museum Street/Castle Bailey). In both cases the Blue Badge must be displayed with the special parking disc showing the time of arrival.

Park and Ride
Colchester Park and Ride is located to the North of the city centre, at Junction 28 of the A12. Postcode location for Sat Nav users is CO4 5JA
The Park and Ride is open Monday to Saturday 7am – 7pm. There are 970 spaces of which 29 are disabled spaces.
You will need to display your blue badge in your car and purchase a ticket online or on the bus.
If you have a disability pass, you will need to show your pass to the driver and pay £1.50 before 9am or free after 9am. Full details of Colchester's Park and Ride can be found on the Essex County Council website
Bus
There are several low-floor, easy access buses in service some with space for a wheelchair. All main bus stops have "real time" information screens for passengers and the bus timetable is available on-line. For details contact the First or Traveline bus services directly.
Train
Trains have ramps for wheelchair access, designated accessible spaces in some cars, and an accessible WC, as well as visual & audible announcements that are helpful to people with a sensory disability. The Service provider also offers advice on the accessibility of stations and help on and off trains - people who require assistance need to book this at least 24 hours in advance. Taxi
A number of Colchester taxis are wheelchair accessible and can be booked through local taxi companies. We recommend that you call to check availability and suitability before travelling.
